Tavira
Tavira is one of the most authentic cities in the Algarve: Arab and Roman architecture alongside Baroque churches, quiet streets and none of the mass tourism found elsewhere in the region. The Gilão river splits the city in two and its banks are perfect for a stroll or a drink. Ten minutes away is Ilha de Tavira, a fine-sand beach with shallow waters ideal for families.
